Care & Maintenance

HDPE resists any food residue from sticking to it, however the longer these particles bake in the sun, the more difficult they are to remove.

  • Daily maintenance for commercial use is warm soap & water with sponge.
  • Stubborn food residue (fruits, berries and grease) may be removed with a citrus cleaner via spray bottle application- let stand to help dissolve residue and then sponge clean.
  • For added luster- once surface is clean, Armor All (a water-based silicone) may be applied lightly with a terry cloth towel, however in commercial food service application, surface must be completely dry for several hours. Please click to see Armor All MSDS sheet.
  • It is NOT recommended to use any abrasive cleaners, or abrasive sponges, this will dull and scratch the surface.
  • Periodically a deep cleaning method for keeping original luster is to buff the tops with a soft pad car buffer, using a non-abrasive compound.

Our material is a solid material using no surface coatings. Vandalized surfaces may be partially restored by using a small handheld propane torch and feather the flame lightly over the surface to reduce deep scratches to a blemish. This procedure must only be performed by a maintenance professional; caution must be used to not melt the area being restored.

HDPE Materials

Soldura manufactures using only sustainable recycled and recyclable HDPE Plastics for all of our products.

What is HDPE?

High-density polyethylene plastic is the most environmentally stable of all plastics – giving off no harmful fumes into the environment. Manufacturing HDPE plastics requires only a fraction of the energy required to produce steel from iron ore, further contributing to its classification of being Eco-friendly.
